A Burren Food Experience

10.03.2015

Join us in the Burren this year as we prepare for a summer of food! Events start on 4th May with “Sea Shore, Shanties and Knot Know How” the first of the Burren Food Trail Mondays events. Each Monday from 4th May to 26th October a themed food event will take place around the Burren.

This year sees an extension of the Slow Food Festival to a week long celebration of the Burren’s finest foods and food producers at locations around the Burren. The Burren Ecotourism Network have organised a week of events promising good fun and good food! The week starting on Saturday 16th May leads to the main Burren Slow Food Festival which will take place 23rd and 24th May 2015.

This year’s Burren Slow Food festival theme is Land & Sea, and every kind of food provided by them. The organisers are excited to announce that Michelin-starred chef Derry Clarke from L’Ecrivain will be making a much anticipated appearance at the festival, parting with his expertise in demos and talks.

October bank holiday sees the return of the very popular Burren Food Fayre showcasing a range of local Artisan Food Producers, cookery demonstrations, talks and tastings. The Burren MASTERCHEF competition is one highlight with categories for Secondary Schools and Adults, all are invited to participate with fabulous prizes to be won!
